Proper Rehabilitation Promotes Healing and Minimizes Re-Injury

Following veterinarian prescribed protocols, Ohmes Equine Services provides the know-how and creates the conditions for optimal healing and strengthening.

As a former upper level event rider, Jennifer has successfully rehabilitated injuries and has experience with preventative care and treatment of sport horses.

Ohmes Equine Services offers the necessary care and services in an environment that many horse owners are not able to provide due to time constraints, facility restrictions or lack of experience.

Services Offered

IV Catheter Care

Continued administration of fluids and/or medication
needed after hospitalization.

Wound Care/Bandaging
Medication Administration

Wound severity and location determine the care and therapies necessary. Special attention is required for infection prevention, proper medication and bandaging application. Additional therapies can aid in circulation, decrease inflammation and stimulate cells to promote healing.
Whirlpool Boots/Cold Water Therapy Boots

Rapidly reduces swelling/inflammation. Provides analgesic effect. Inhibits degenerative enzyme production to help prevent further soft tissue damage.

Class 3B Laser Therapy

Low level laser therapy is a painless treatment that uses clinically tested wavelengths of light to stimulate natural biological processes leading to faster healing and pain relief. Stimulates drainage from lymphatic system. Reduces stiffness to increase range of motion.

Pulsing Electromagnetic Field Therapy (PEMF)
Magnetic Mat

PEMF uses pulsing magnetic fields, developed by pulsing a small amount of battery current through coils of wire. PEMF jump-starts biological cellular reactions aiding in decreased inflammation, increased circulation and pain reduction. Treatment for conditions from foot to knee.

Veterinarian Prescribed Protocols

Proper rehabilitation promotes healing and minimizes
re-injury. Stall rest, hand walking and restricted turn out are important veterinarian recommendations after surgery and for various injuries. Eventual under saddle rehab is required to properly return the horse to work. Our goal is to assist the horse physically, mentally and emotionally during the recovery process for the best possible results.
